John Fallon is no stranger to building and drifting fantastic cars, having achieved notoriety over the years with a series of cars that all embodied the glory days of the Japanese tuning scene. Most recently, his BN Sports-kitted R32 4-door ticked all the right boxes, before he decided to swap it with Billy of R32 Life/JZX Life-fame (depending on which car he felt like owning at the time) and got his hands on the Toyota JZX100 Mark II that you see here.

Not that it looked anything like how it does now when he picked it up though. However, within a matter of weeks, John had poured his creative efforts (and a considerable amount of money!) into his new car, instantly treating it to a set of 18×9.5 WORK CR Ultimate Kiwamis in Bronze that fill the arches nicely without the need for ungainly bolt-on arches or liberal flaring of the original bodywork.

The Ganador mirrors were also added before the car was swiftly taken to the bodyshop for some love. There’s no obnoxious colour choices or glitter here, just a timeless black on bronze colour combination.

It seems to be a running theme in a lot of my blog posts recently but, once again, this is a car that excels at defining the “less is more” mantra.

There’s nothing garish or over the top; it’s essentially just a clean and simple big-body Toyota that looks as at home on the track as much as it does heading down to the local supermarket. It’s entirely usable as a fast road car while still handling all of John’s drifting duties – there’s even space in the back for his just-born daughter too!
