I’m still playing catch up on blog posts from my Japan trips so you’ll have to bear with me while I work through them them one by one!

This batch of photos was taken in the Motorland Mikawa car park in March 2016, just after I had parked the Mazda Demio hire car while trying not to get too excited over the sound of RB20s and RB25s coming from the circuit a few hundred metres away.

The cause of the noise was the annual A-Bo-Moon R32-only event, so it took some self restraint to spend a few minutes checking out some of the cool cars in the car park before walking up to the track.

First up was this S14a, with silver WORK D9Rs on one side…

…and white D9Rs on the other.

Jesse Streeter Suzuki Cappuccino

It was cool to see Jesse Streeter’s Suzuki Cappuccino in the flesh, having seen plenty of photos of it online over the years. On this particular day though, it had been driven up from Osaka by Geoff, who was working for Jesse at the time.

This ER34 was a little rough around the edges but was still cool, mainly due to the VS-KFs.

The lesser seen JZX100 sibling. This stock-bodied and ever-so-slightly two-toned Cresta looked cool slammed on a set of WORK CR Kiwamis.

On the other hand, the JZX100 Mark II is a more commonly seen variant but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this super low example.

I didn’t recognise the front wheels (WORK Durandals perhaps?) but the white XT7s on the rear were a stark contrast to them.

Speaking of XT7s and this slammed S14a was also wearing a set, although these ones were fully polished.

And, last but not least, this sweet S14 Zenki with lots of cool touches such as clear headlight, sidelight and indicator lenses. As I’ve said many times before, it’s often small details like this that make all the difference but are forgotten on many builds here in the UK.

The paintwork was also fantastic, something you’ll notice in the flesh on a lot of great cars in Japan. Just because it’s a drift car, does not mean it necessarily warrants a £200 rattle can spray job!
