TK Sport are a renowned Lotus tuner outfit based out of Osaka. While it might seem crazy that a small workshop on the other side of the world can dedicate themselves to cars produced by the legendary British sports car company, the work that they put out is nothing short of extraordinary. From high powered engine swaps to full carbon fibre clamshell conversions, TKS are the go-to guys for Lotus enthusiasts in Japan. I last visited their workshop towards the end of 2016 and I couldn’t believe the builds that filled the premises. I’ll be sure to post some photos shortly…
When it came to choosing wheels for the cars leaving their workshop, the TKS team were unimpressed at the few choices that would be suitable for Lotus models while also boasting suitable motorsport credentials and workmanship. This led to them creating the TK6F, a Japanese designed & manufactured forged 2-piece wheel that is available for both Lotus models and also many other cars.
All TK6F wheels are manufactured to order by hand in Japan to the exact requirements specified by the buyer and are available in 16?, 17? & 18? diameters.
Two different kinds of TK6F wheel are available; a Lotus-specific version (that features a 4x100PCD, a 56.6mm centre bore and compatibility with the OEM Lotus centre cap) and a basic version suitable for other makes and models (available in 4×100~114.3 & 5×100~120 PCDs).
Motorsport is in Lotus’ DNA and so the construction techniques used when assembling TK6F wheels reflect this. Forged construction ensures unmatched durability and strength, while the use of knurled rims keeps the tyres secure and eliminates the chance of the tyres rotating independently of the wheels in extreme circumstances.
