After first visiting Caffeine & Machine right at the end of last year, I decided to pop down again to see how things were going.
I say “pop down”; it’s actually a 200 mile round trip. This was dealt with swiftly on my previous visit by travelling in the 326POWER UK S205 Mercedes but, this time round, I took the JimnyStyle Suzuki Jimny for a day out. A fun car it might be, but a relaxing long distance cruiser it is not.
Of course, it just had to be raining when I chose to attend. Throughout the summer months Caffeine & Machine’s Instagram feed has been awash with sun-kissed photos of incredible cars rolling in and out, filling me with jealousy every week.
However, this is the UK and a little bit of rain (read: an awful lot of rain) wouldn’t stop us from enjoying some brilliant vehicles. Enthusiasm was as high and ever, cars were enjoyed and caffeinated beverages were drunk.
I got to join Fraser and Lewis off of Driftworks on car observation and food consuming duties before saying our respective good byes. It’s fantastic to see that the buzz about Caffeine & Machine is still as strong as ever and, after persevering through some tough months at the start of summer when the venue became massively oversubscribed (and many punters also chose to ignore the really quite simple house rules), things seem to have settled down into a nice rhythm now.
Hopefully it continues to be busy throughout the colder months that are looming, with people continuing to drive their pride and joys throughout the winter months.
