Being a guy that is well known for getting a job done (no matter what it is) in a fraction of the time that others say it should take, Adam off of RETROshine has a long list of returning friends and customers who come to him for anything from full resprays to welding and fabrication. It’s come as no surprise that, having recently secured a workshop unit for himself and his dad, that the pair of them will now be working full time under the RETROshine banner.

While Adam primarily works with drifters and those from other modified car groups, his dad has been known to tackle absolutely anything. When I paid the guys a visit a short while ago to drop off a set of wheels for painting, their newly acquired workshop had already been transformed from a bit of a dump into a fully functional workspace and spray booth.

Adam was putting some hours into his boosted B6ZE-powered FC3S drift car at the time but it was cool to check the place out with my own eyes. In the corner sat my old white S13 that Adam will be restoring when he gets a spare few minutes. I can’t wait to see what he does with it.

This Punto was in the middle of a respray too; shortly after it was finished and on its way out of the workshop. These guys work fast, although I was sort of hoping that the yellow door was hinting that it would be painted with a traditional Spoon Sports Honda livery (it wasn’t to be, unfortunately).

I could only dream of having a workbench as organised and well-equipped as this, although I would be nowhere near disciplined enough to keep it this neat and tidy.

After setting my new set of URAS NS-01s down, awaiting their transformation…

…it was time to back Adam’s FC out of the workshop so it could be driven to the dyno for mapping the following day, having just been fitted with a T28R turbo to replace the T28 that decided it was time to die a short while earlier.
