A few months ago an excited and hyperactive Alex Law asked me to design a new livery for Joe, Matt and himself as part of their new Team Dojo campaign for 2014. The request included, but wasn’t limited to “it needs lots of thunderbolts and chrome”. An hour later I had the design you see below drawn up by hand and scanned into the computer ready to play with colours. A few months on and Alex’s car was finally finished and ready to to be seen by the public at Lydden Hill for Round 1 of the BDC.
To say the response was overwhelming would be a bit of an understatement. Every drift photography blog in the UK seems to be loving the look which, coupled with the brilliant ride height and wheel fitment setup, has set it apart from pretty much every other car in the BDC.
While results-wise Alex may have had a bit of a shocker at the event, the sheer amount of attention the car got made it all worthwhile.
Now all it needs are some more sponsor logos and reverse graphics to make it look even wilder. I’m looking forward to seeing the results.
