Of the Low Origin cars, Dan’s Nissan S15 is what I guess you would call the less extreme of the two. Featuring a less intrusive roll cage, the entirety of its interior and a ride height just a smidgen higher than that of Alex’s S14, you could be forgiven for describing it as a practical daily driver. For the most part though, Dan does actually drive his beloved Nissan every day.

I’ve featured this car in detail in the past and, for the most part, the spec remains the same. Some visual changes have been made though; namely the Origin Labo Racing Line aero and the 18″ WORK Meister M1s, with the latter filling the arches a little more than the 17″ WORK Seekers that preceded them.

While it isn’t as all-out powerful and competition-focused (if you can call it that) as Alex’s S14, Dan’s S15 is very finely balanced. Featuring a brilliantly designed Huxley Motorsports roll cage, the car meets the safety requirements for most amateur drifting competitions here in the UK, where it sees occasional competitive use.

On the other end of the spectrum, it also has a double DIN bluetooth equipped head unit and still retains the rear seat bench. It’s all about the aforementioned balance.

I can never stress the importance of careful planning when it comes to building your car. It’s all too easy to solid mount this and rose joint that but, at the end of it all, you’re left with a car that you detest driving other than in a track situation.

Having built a handful of S-bodies previously, Dan knew exactly what he wanted when it came to turning what was a bone-stock Spec-S S15 into the Straight Cam SR20 powered, TD06 boosted car you see here. With this build, experience has been key.
