When you think of Naoki Nakamura, you probably associate him with a pink and purple PS13 being thrown against a wall of sorts, all while smashing the rev limiter and blaring a distinctive SR20 soundtrack. On that note, let me introduce you to his new car, where only the pink and purple paint scheme remains true to that vision.

Under the bonnet of this S14a lies a 1JZ; while this may be a popular swap elsewhere in the world, in Japan it’s still relatively rare to find S-bodies with anything other than an SR20 in the engine bay. Naoki has had his fair share of experience with SR20s over the years and, after one failure too many, his friends at Stacked Inc. were soon asking the internet as to which engine swap they would recommend for this S14.

I was told that there were many late nights involved in the building of this car, as the crew at Stacked plus Naoki and a handful of others rushed to get the car ready.

There is no doubting who this car belongs to; just one look at the deep glitter finish adorning the Origin Labo bodywork is enough of a clue.

As with most Japanese builds, the majority of the interior still co-exists around the roll cage. Note the switches sitting where the air conditioning controls once sat, the Defi gauges in the air vent hole, the giant rev counter and the plastic fluid tank in the passenger footwell.

And of course, how could I not mention the jewell-encrusted dash cluster!

I handed Naoki a handful of Street Track Life stickers while he was cleaning his car, not because I wanted him to stick them on the car but purely as a gift out of respect for providing me with so many hours of entertainment on YouTube.

Nevertheless, he proceeded to stick them on his car (more than likely as a result of the language barrier-based confusion!). I hate to go into fanboy mode but, I was pretty chuffed about this and couldn’t help but take a few photos.

I’m looking forward to seeing Naoki using this S14 in competition – hopefully the 1JZ gives him the edge he needs to make his authority known and take down some of the mega horsepower builds in the process.
