While up at Buxton on Sunday I filmed a bit of Mat Pickering and his Mx-5 in action. Mat drove a pretty cool Zenki S14 up until the end of last year, while driving a Mk2 Mx-5 as daily toy for the road. For this year Mat decided to head down the Mx-5 route full time, picking up a nice Mk1 and treating it to a handful of basic parts that has made it a very effective car on both the road and the track.
I’ll post some more photos of the car and a basic spec shortly but for now, take a look at the video below of Mat throwing his little Mx around Buxton Raceway. He was a great driver in his S14 but many would say he’s even more impressive behind the wheel of a low-powered Mazda!
