Being what will undoubtedly be one of the hottest weekends of the year, Sunday’s practice day at Three Sisters saw a lot of sunburnt faces and drivers sweltering in their cars, wishing they hadn’t removed their electric windows and/or air conditioning! I was gutted not to be driving but still popped along to check out the action, so here’s a few photos from the day. First up, Paz’s AE86.

Paz is one of the OGs of UK drifting and his Corolla remains true to his roots, with the fresh set of WORK Meister S1-2Piece wheels being the only standout “modern” modification. I captured a lot of video footage of Paz in action (along with an on-board pedal cam to catch his fancy footwork and clutch abuse) plus a few more photos, so I’ll be posting all of these in the near future.

Paz wasn’t on his own when it came to AE86s, with this red Trueno also going great on track and enjoying Three Sisters’ tight and twisty layout.

This S14 belonged to one of Paz’s mates and looked great with Supermade aero and WORK CR-2Ps (the rears were swapped for the wheels pictured prior to hitting the track). I really liked the little details, such as the orange indicator lenses and subtle front splitter.

OEM bodywork, subtle yet distinctive wheels and properly low ride height: this is UK street style as I remember it from a fair few years ago and it was great to see this S14a going well out on track. I also saw this car practicing at Teesside just a few days prior to this practice day – it’s awesome to see that this driver is so keen to get some seat time.

And on the other side of the UK street style spectrum, you have Alex and his S14a. A diff failure ruined Alex’s day come mid-afternoon but he was going great prior to that, although his gearbox decided that Sunday would be a great time to start popping out of third gear for no apparent reason. The combination of mega WORK VS-XXs, 326Power wheel nuts and extreme wheel fitment certainly had a number of spectators baffled as they watched him take on the circuit.

Sunday marked Dan’s first time on track in his new S15 since building it over the last few months. Other than the car getting hot quite quickly and the heaters needing to be on full blast to keep the water temperature down, the car performed faultlessly. A few suspension tweaks are on the cards but, other than that, Dan was really glad to enjoy his new creation after months of slaving away.

Continuing on the yellow car UKATEN theme and Matt Pickering’s boosted Mx-5 was also in attendance, although sadly Matt wasn’t taking part on track due to various reasons. I’ll post more photos of this Roadster in a future post.
And finally, if you didn’t catch it the other day, here’s a video I made of Marc Huxley in action in his RA28 Celica. Believe it or not, Sunday was his first time at Three Sisters but it was no surprise to see him and his Toyota looking right at home from the get go.
